Al Jarreau — Heaven And Earth
Produced by Narada Michael Walden

Narada Michael Walden would seem to be an unlikely choice to produce an Al Jarreau album. Walden has produced pop artists like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. But as was the case with L Is For Lover, Jarreau maintains a high artistic standard as he explores different genres. It is no accident that he is the only musician to win Grammy awards in pop, jazz, and soul categories. Jarreau shows an impressive vocal range in It's Not Hard To Love You. Whenever I Hear Your Name recalls the crooning of Marvin Gaye. Blue In Green is a dedication to Miles Davis.

Whitney Houston is in top form with some of her best performances to date.  I Will Always Love You is a vocal masterpiece as she takes weak material and turns it into something magnificent.  Also features I'm Every Woman and I Have Nothing.

After 7 — Takin’ My Time

I really enjoy Kevon Edmonds voice which is something special to behold on Truly Something Special.  Too bad the other songs on this album aren't quite up to par.

This soundtrack (largely a Babyface/LA project) marked the debut of Toni Braxton on Love Shoulda Brought You Home and the Boyz II Men monster smash The End Of The Road.
